My name is Caitlin Thomas. I am a News Media major at Brigham Young University.

I have a passion for finding stories that uplift and inspire others to become better people. I believe in the power of words and the ability they have to bring people together. I am aspiring to become a human interest journalist who highlights stories of hope and happiness throughout a variety of cultures.

I have spent many years studying journalism. I first began as a freshman at Snow College in 2011 where I wrote a column for the Snowdrift, the campus newspaper. From there I was promoted to head editor and reporter in 2012. I have since transferred to Brigham Young University where I am now a student news reporter for the Universe. I spent the last semester reporting for the metro desk at the 2016 Utah Legislative session where I was able to meet many local officials and report on local issues.

I am also an advocate for life. I truly believe are worth pursuing and life is worth living. I have started a #choosetolive initiative that encourages stories of inspiration and hope through social media.
